a rather pleasant day

Sunday was actually a rather pleasant day, even if I was in a little pain later from all the walking. I woke up and was pondering an omelette for breakfast when I got a call from C asking if I wanted to go to the Farmer’s Market and brunch. Sounded good to me, so after a quick shower and not so quick decision on what to wear, I met him by his place.

The Farmer’s Market was really cool, though I wonder if getting there earlier would help with the selection. There were also booths with soaps and sauces and baked goods. It’s the kind of thing you’d go to, pick up a bunch of stuff and then put that all together for dinner. I picked up some tomatoes and potatoes, nothing else really caught my eye.

From there we headed back to his place, perusing some cds I might like and back to my place so I could change shoes, then we walked (yes walked) to Georgetown, something I’ve only ever done once before… But it turned to be not as long a walk as I thought it might be and the company and conversation definitely made it worth the walk. Oddly enough, I walked through all of Georgetown and didn’t buy a single thing. Nothing really tickled my fancy.

We saw Pirates of the Carribean, which is GREAT, I was very impressed with Johnny Depp’s performance. It pretty much was HIS movie. The movie also incorporated a few elements of the amusement park ride which made it amusing for a few in-jokes, thankfully it took more than 15 minutes to get through. Yo, ho, yo, ho…

All in all it was a great day, spending the day with him (nearly 9 hours) was pretty nice, I didn’t get sick of his company, nor did I feel too far removed from my apartment after a while. I did get a little bit of a headache but that may have been due to the heat more than anything else. I didn’t get any bowling practice in this weekend, but it’s pretty much a moot point as our team is in next to last place. We’d have to bowl consistent 300 games to rise in the next few weeks to a respectable standing. But I have had fun with the league.
