my cup runneth over

Ok, so it’s my birthday today, yadda yadda yadda. I haven’t turned into a pumpkin, no grey hairs sprouting up and the portrait in my attic remains just fine.

I took the day off work and decide to immerse myself in a little techno lust, I went to the Apple Store and looked at the iPod Nano – wow. It is CUTE and so tiny, so perfectly tiny. Reducto would be pleased.

I also bought a TiVo, yes, I am a consumer whore! But it’s really nice, I should be able to free up my PC from its media center duties and hard drive space, and I found a hack for the Mac client (which TiVo no longer supports) that lets me see my iTunes and iPhoto stuff through the unit. So now I have a Roku SoundBridge that I no longer need, perhaps someone can use it or it’s time to eBay (the shoes aren’t really selling, looks like, but I’m not willing to GIVE them away)… I got it hooked up on the home network via ethernet cable at the moment, since a usb network adapter was on sale. Eventually I’ll get a wifi, but for this place the cable’s well out of sight and I get all the things I was thinking about having separately, in one machine.

There’s dinner with friends tonight and dinner tomorrow night. I’m still on a bit of a high about this past weekend and this week. If anyone had told me 7 or 8 years ago when I moved to DC that one day I’d be freaking about because I had so many people to invite to a party, I’d have thought they were insane. Just goes to show me, huh?

Now to figure out how to start recording shows. 🙂

Thanks ed! Don’t jinx my computers, I wouldn’t be able to live on tv alone. And now I won’t have to watch the same celebrity poker rerun every time I clean the living room.
