Obligatory “DST Sucks” entry…
Everyone’s clearly running behind, some by exactly an hour today, imagine that! Yesterday was the easy part, I could just sleep in. But sleeping in doesn’t catch you up as much as it just makes you wonder, initially, why the light outside doesn’t look different. Then you wander within sight of one of your auto-updating clocks (computer, TiVo, cable box, cell phone) and wonder how you slept so late! I think we need more than one day to get used to the change before returning to the office. When returning from travel, they say you should give yourself a day for each hour you were displaced to get over jet lag. But what about when you haven’t been anywhere, but the place you’re in shifts an hour forwards or backwards? I definitely think you need more than a day to compensate.
Of course I whine and moan about it now, but I’ll head home and start cleaning and watching TV well past midnight and then kick myself for doing so. It’s not all my fault, though… I discovered that RCN added all of the Discovery HD channels. Even “How It’s Made” reruns look amazing in HD, though I am glad I haven’t seen the episode where they show making hot dogs. Cased meats in that kind of clarity might turn me into a vegetarian for life.
I haven’t been to the new Target yet because I haven’t needed anything, but that’s going to be a whole post in and of itself after I get over there. I’m still dealing with looking outside and my brain screaming, “the light… it’s wrong!”
