Vat19: 500 lbs. of Liquid Glass

I had not heard of Liquid Glass Putty before now, and now I’m a little scared of it. This is like a horror movie except it’s a near naked man in the tub, so I approve!

Ten Years On…

Just thinking about 2007 now that we’re ten years on from it. I’m moderately more of an adult now than I was then, but I miss a little bit of my carefree shenanigans and not feeling weighed down by everything. I don’t even know if I’d really recognize myself from then, but it’s nice to flip through my online photo albums and realize what a difference a decade makes.

Resilience: A Black Lives Matter Mix

With everything going on in our country, I turn to music now as I have in the past to help work out and work through the pain and hurt. Julia Child… (and Her Amazing Friends)

I absolutely love this photo of Julia Child filming a promo for “The French Chef” in 1964. It embodies the reason I’ve never quite made any food/recipe/cooking videos for YouTube: it’s a heck of a lot of work!

Moby has created an 11-track album of quiet ambient music, perfect for relaxing, sleeping, meditating, doing yoga, or whatever else you may just need to bring it down for. He’s also giving it away for free, because he is truly amazing like that.

Alexandria Library Sit-In (1939)

On August 21, 1939, five citizens of the city walked into library and sat at one of its reading tables. Though surrounded by the wisdom of the ages, they were denied access to the thoughts on the shelves around them for a reason as implausible as the color of their skin. For merely being in the room, they were arrested.

Cleveland Park, Rainy Sunday

Cleveland Park is both cute and photogenic, even on grey and rainy days. Just a few pictures taken while wandering around and waiting for my brunch spot to open.

Everything is a Remix: The Force Awakens

Kirby Ferguson of “Everything is a Remix” takes a look at Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the J. J. Abrams vs. George Lucas methods of remixing. Many said The Force Awakens didn’t feel new, and Ferguson helps break down why.

Guy Laroche, Ebony Fashion Fair

This Guy Laroche evening suit perfectly embodies this quote. “If you’re not dressed in the most refined, glittering fabrics, you must be glowing in the richest colors imaginable.” — Eunice Johnson
