office: best advice ever

Office advice...

I don’t know about you, but I am really looking forward to the day–hopefully day and a ½–off. I’m not bothering with all the nonsense of travel, but staying in town as in previous years. Like a moron, I also haven’t dealt with Giftmas travel plans but for some reason waiting until the last minute never seems to be all that bad for me. Maybe I have an unpopular route or get in at the right time, but the only stress I really have about December travel is trying not to hurt anyone at the airport.

A few of these signs were printed out and hung around the office. I haven’t seen or heard anyone using them, but considering some days around here I’m sure people are sorely tempted. I will say that I just can’t understand how people can sit around and, for the most part, do absolutely nothing and expect to get paid for it. No offense to any trust fund babies or, if she were real, Patsy Stone.

Great idea to stay put during the holidays. We do the same, and travel on the other weekends. It sure beats the traffic aggravation.

Happy TDAY! Looking forward to hearing about your fabu recipe choices!

I love being in DC over the holidays when lots of people are out of town. Everything moves a little more slowly and restaurants/movies/etc are less crowded and generally more pleasant. Last year a friend convinced me to go to a restaurant where I usually count on getting mediocre service but over the holiday weekend we received great service and had a blast.

I hope you have a great break!

My new boss, The Tool, manages to rake in over twice my salary, yet comes in 2 hours late, takes 2 hour lunches, leaves an hour early, yaks on his phone all day long, surfs the web, and maybe, if I actually force him to, he talks to a student about some small issue. WTF? And it’s not like I’m not SITTING RIGHT OUTSIDE HIS DOOR AND CAN HEAR ALL THIS or anything.

Meanwhile we’ve been told they are NOT replacing my co-worker that left in September, and they are NOT splitting my position, so I continue to drown on a daily basis.
