From Salon.com – My gay therapy session

Barry Levy, a Christian counselor and licensed clinical social worker, is explaining to me what causes homosexuality. “Take the young boy who is more sensitive, more delicate, who doesn’t like rough-and-tumble, who is artistic,” he says. “He can’t hit the ball, fire the gun or shoot an arrow. There is a high correlation between poor eye-hand coordination and same-sex attraction.”

It’s an interesting series so far, mostly sparked by the story of Zach’s Blog and his being sent to Love in Action for reparative therapy (gay de-programming).

I guess that explains why I sucked at T-ball… no, wait, it was my racist gym teacher… ah memories.

I find this post almost depressing. Cal me stupid, but I didn’t know such therapy existed or even that such therapists correlated such evidence. Is their really a science behind being gay? Why is it so bad to be attracted to the opposite sex? Must humans be de-programmed if they don’t “fit in” sexually? When it really boils down to the simplistic, without order to the chaos, we are merely beasts anyways. Yes we are human, but what separates us from, lions and tigers and bears? Carnivore and Omnivore? Soul and no soul? Where do animals go when they die if they have no soul? I know these ideas sound a little off basis, but questions that can correlate with the quote.
