wtf: “Open Carry” service for gun owners
So many things are going through my head after hearing this, but I will simply present it without comment. WLKY: Pastor Asks Congregation To Bring Guns To Church
A pastor in Louisville wants his congregation and anyone else in the community to bring their guns to his church at an event later this month.
“We’re doing this just like we were having a church picnic,” said Pastor Ken Pagano of New Bethel Church, describing what he calls, an “open carry celebration.”
It’s being held in celebration of July 4 and “our rights as Americans” for all who support 1st and 2nd Amendment rights. Responsible handgun owners are asked to attend openly wearing their sidearm but are advised that guns must be unloaded and in a secure holster. Patriotic music, gun store and firing range owners are invited to speak and there will be presentations about responsible gun ownership and 2nd Amendment rights. And of course, a raffle to win a handgun.
All that is asked is that you bring a sidearm, a friend who has a sidearm and a canned good for local food bank.
“You can bring your firearm, but it has to be unloaded and in a safe secure receptacle.”
What? Like a tupperware container? Just make sure you burp the lid?
I don’t get it.
Gladware = cheaper than Tupperware. Just saying if you have lots of guns needing receptacles…. Might as well save some $ before heading to church. Plus then you can buy more $1 tickets to win another gun!!!
Um, that’s a really bad idea. That is all.
And people wonder why I moved away from that city!

Makes sense to me! I mean, what if a homosexual, Muslim, or what them lib’rals call “minorities” walks into the church and you don’t have a gun to prove you love Jesus?
(n.b.: yes, I’m joking.)

Open Carry Church makes good sense. It’s a real inconvenience for members of God’s Army to have to reach all the way under their suitcoats to pull a pistol and send OB/GYNs like the late Dr. George Tiller to Jesus.
“Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
with the cross of Jesus going on before.
Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe;
forward into battle see his guns go!
Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
with the cross of Jesus going on before.”
