on becoming a bowler…

I can’t stop it. It seems to have a life of its own. I’m a bowler. I am starting to love it far beyond just going bowling every now and again. Last night while watching The Simpsons, I gave my ball a clean and polish. This isn’t what I’d call a fun process, but when you’re finished, you can see that the ball has regained the shine it had when you first got it, and all is right with the world for a while.
I’m not normally outwardly competitive either, but bowling brings it out in me, which can be bad since I’m not exactly consistent, but I know a lot more about what I’m doing now than when I started. But everytime we’re with the league I try to have fun with things, but I can’t help a little trash talking.. then I get mad at myself if I do poorly.. and mad when my teammates aren’t trying. There’s a difference between not trying and having a bad throw, sometimes everything’s perfect, but all the little micromovements making up your approach to the lanes and release of the ball can add up to screw you. But I digress…
I’m looking forward to bowling tonight, even though it’s colder than a Republican’s forked tongue outside.
