Cooking geeks get hot…

Yes, I admit, I am a Sexy Food Nerd. However no subscriptions to Cook’s Illustrated were on my xmas gift hauls, so I’ll have to do it myself. I’ve hemmed and hawed about buying one, since it really does elevate one past the level of glossy sexy cooking shows from Food Network, and into the nitty gritty of being able to cook damn near anything with the best (and not necessarily most expensive) equipment and ingredients.
Eh, what the hell, it’s a New Year, after all. Now if only I can get my roommate to stop saying “Oh, you’re cooking?” in that delightfully-mangled-English-uptalked-way when he walks in the door and sees my hands full of food or stirring something in a saucepan. MAD Magazine couldn’t print enough “Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions” for my life.
