The screen flickered relentlessly while the speaker droned on and on. The static from the tv mingled with the slight feedback hum of the microphone, creating a three-part harmony with the presenter that sang, “Security is your friend. Security is your life.”
If not for the muted jazz rising from the plaza through the windows giving constant combat to the monotone voice of the trainer, we would surely be brainwashed.
They had definitely learned from both casinos and school classrooms. There were no clocks in the room and the windows were securely covered, letting no daylight in whatsoever.
So we had a lovely security training, and I’m proud of myself, I only fell asleep twice. And it wasn’t sleep as much as it was blinking and realizing that your eyes must have been closed for at least 30 seconds at a time.
