DC weather: Trade-off

I’ve done it before and I’ll do it again. I have no problem walking through a torrential downpour if we get a good payoff as a result. Yesterday afternoon was downright nasty, and me like a fool just had to blog about Ross Perot instead of getting the hell out of the office.

It didn’t feel too bad when I left work, there were some droplets, but they felt cooling and nice. Plus they let up by the time I reached the metro station entrance, so I was feeling pretty ok about it. I didn’t see anyone soaked getting on the train on the stops home, so I figured I was out of the woods.

Then we pulled into Columbia Heights and as I was approaching the escalator, I could hear it, even through my music. And I could see people, even with umbrellas, looking soaked and I knew I was in for it. I hadn’t brought my office “backup” umbrella because it’s a freebie and while it looks great, it would fold in a stiff breeze, let alone this:

However this morning is a lovely 60s and it might get up to 80 today. I can definitely live with that.

That brings back memories of a few weeks ago.

Yeah, totally. But my shoes survived it.

Sorry, couldn’t help myself. My Kenneth Coles were chosen for their ability to shrug off salt, mud, snow, ice and rain. 😉

    Touché! LOL!

I’ll have to keep that in mind for my next Kenneth Cole pair. But, it may be a while before I get hit with a deluge, being out here in San Diego.
