Drink the twitter Kool-Aid already!
From Dumb Little Man comes a list of 10 tools to improve your use of twitter. My favorite?
- TwitterSnooze: If you are getting a blast of tweets from a particular follower then you may want to snooze him/her using TwitterSnooze. For example if you’ve got a follower who uses Twittytunes to update his twitter status then you could get frequent automated tweets from that person when he is listening to songs. If that gets irritating you can use this tool to snooze tweets from that person.
Friends and I often talk about how we turned off SMS notifications and how we have to ignore twitter at certain times from users that just don’t seem to be able to disconnect themselves from microblogging. Still, twitter is fun, but it’s all too easy to go overboard.
That twittersnooze thing sounds so great. I will definitely be using it for all my Twitter Chatty Cathys.
I can certainly think of one person who should get the TwitterSnooze treatment, but it just seems a little mean to do that to him.
Wow. Now I’m doubly glad I don’t twit. I mean, I am a twit, I don’t need to twit on top of it… 😎

Twitter has had it’s own share of criticism, primarily due to the downtimes it experienced (and still experiences quite often). This has many calling it an unproductive tool. However it has it’s own benefits and hence has a huge fan following. It allows you to interact with many people simultaneously and in the simplest possible manner.
Twitter also makes it possible for spam followers to find someone and latch on, one of my pet peeves. I hate it when total strangers decide to follow and their website has something to sell.
@shindo: That’s when I go to their twitter page and BLOCK ’em! Yes, it’s a pain, but worth the 5 seconds of effort.
