I am very aware, as a content creator, streamer, TTRPG performer and generally someone that puts their thoughts on the internet of the irony of this post title.
While I wouldn’t mind if DC Comics came to replace me with a fresher, younger, more marketable version of myself, this post is just about my birthday.
Lately my thoughts have been going back over the Thirsty Sword Lesbians game I ran at PAX Unplugged last year when I tossed a little “Clue” into the TTPRG mix.
Dungeons & Dragons is 50 years old. FIFTY. To paraphrase Patsy from Absolutely Fabulous, “How old does that make me?” Sometimes it’s best not to ask, Patsy.
On the cusp of June, I remember to dust off the blog and catch y’all up on what’s been happening! Short answer: A lot, but not a lot. Long answer: Read on!
Or… “Out with the Old, Nah! to the New?” as I get back into the New Year’s habit of writing and my efforts to contend with tidying up stuff, junk, and things.
About learning to say no to things and reclaiming my time, both for obligations and just my own personal well being. Being busy is great, until it’s too much.
It feels weird and unremarkable, and yet as much as I know that turning 50 is still quite a big deal… I’m having a little trouble feeling it just yet.
With everything going on, I think I’ve already said that I pretty much only leave my apartment maybe once a week, and my building maybe once every two weeks. I mean, it’s the safer option during a pandemic, right? And...
