things can only get better
… things can only get better …
I won’t allow a crappy week to ruin the good weekend that I had with Kevin, however I should note that any e-mail from the office with “I hope you’re feeling better” in it usually contains a hell of a lot of work, so that the sentiment truly is sincere.
Yesterday I was out with a bug, I don’t know what of (probably allergy to work) but it had me down for the count most of the day. I should have tried to do some more packing, but I didn’t have any energy. I’ve still got a bit of something today as well, ‘cos everything I smell is totally overpowering, even my own fairly mild cologne. Illness causes me to have super-senses? Interesting…
The weekend was great though, spending time with him was a lot of fun. We did a bit of everything, from just hanging out, to getting out and about, seeing movies and even meeting up with one of my friends. I do enjoy his company, so naturally I’m getting paranoid that I’m not doing the right things, or saying the right things, and I have to stop and realize that I have to be myself. I look forward to spending more time with him, even if our schedules are wonky, I think we can work out enough common time, even if its just for the occasional dinner. Hmm, highlights from the weekend… We went to Ellicott City and saw some very nice shops there, we were sort of on a New Age store hunt and saw a few places, then it turned into a bit of a jewelry hunt. We saw a great store in Laurel called The Crystal Fox. It reminds me that I have to find a place near me to pick up the things that I like, or find a place online that’s reliable. Another good thing about dating Kevin, even if we’re both sort of non-practicing pagans, he reminds me that I need to get back in touch with that part of myself. It could at the least give me a lot less stress in my life. Let’s see we also did a bit more shopping at a place called Savage Mill, then that evening we saw Lord of the Rings, during which I took a short nap (long day), and I got to see my 2nd “Mills” mall, Anne Arundel Mills, which is cuter than Potomac Mills and clearly more frequented. It was sort of a cross between Potomac Mills and Pentagon City, except most everything was an outlet. Sunday we had brunch with my friend Michael, that doesn’t live too far from Kevin, it turns out. I would have liked to stay longer, but the weather took a turn for the nasty and we got some icy rain so I headed home. I sort of wish the weekend could have lasted a few more days, ‘cos waking up next to him is a nice feeling.
Overall I give the weekend a serious thumbs up, it’s nice to go out with a guy that isn’t just telling you what you want to hear or trying to get you into bed, but wants to get to know you first. *gasp* Who knew that was possible?
