Ok, we’re chuggin’ now…

I’m feeling a bit more in my element. Procedures around here seem simple enough, though getting used to a Microsoft email environment is a new thing, but I’ll get a handle on it. This weekend I may spend a little time researching how to get around Outlook’s workflow system.

We have a development *and* a production server! For most web types this may seem like nothing new, but from my last job, it’s a godsend. So many times I used to hate working on a webpage that was live and possibly being viewed as I was changing it. *blegh*

Anyway, the projects I’m doing now are easy enough and I can actually point to parts of the dot/fois website and say “Yep, I did that.” Though for now it’s just little parts of the site.

So far I’ve been given the death knell on streaming music/radio, and instant messengers, though it sounded like the IM thing is something that people might want to keep lobbying for, since it does have actual business uses. Regardless, I’ll just learn to e-mail friends while on the job. It’ll keep me on task. 😀
