The Year of the Apology…
Poor CBS, they can’t catch a break. Superbowl crotch grabbing, flag desecration and nipple exposure, and now the Grammies and OutKast’s performance being considered racist and degrading. Ah well, maybe they’ll be more careful about what they show on tv. I mean if people want blatant sex, violence and racism, they can tune into cable channels, we expect those themes to be subtle in their omnipresence on broadcast tv.
I had a good Cold Hearts/Dead Presidents weekend, got in some time with MK, he made me dinner on Saturday and we went to brunch on Sunday. Rented a car for the weekend to make things much easier, and much more economical than Zipcar, so we went shopping in the burbs and I only had one gentle misanthropic freakout in a store where apparently no one could say excuse me until after they’d walked on or rammed their shopping cart into my sides. And I picked up a Vintage version of Monopoly for $20 at Target as well as two good movies on dvd for under $10 each.

ing was a disaster of global proportions, we got our asses handed to us on a platter, and not the good platter for company, but the one that you chop up the meat for the dog on. So we’ll probably fall to the middle of the field in rankings, but that’s ok, for one shining moment we were on top, and now every week will be an attempt to get back up there. A few good weeks of bowling can really screw with one’s average & handicap.
I rented Upright Citizens Brigade from Netflix and thoroughly enjoyed it.. “Are you trying to read my diary?!” It was the perfect lazy Monday chore-time watch, though it is definitely time to clean out my closet. I’ve been buying nice shirts for work and play (Old Navy is a gold mine for cute inexpensive tees) and I realize I have nowhere to put them. Also, I seem to have outgrown my “size small” phase with t-shirts, not in a bad way, I just gained weight in all the right places and they now make me look like a whorepuppy, which isn’t really apropos in the middle of winter.. and since they say we’re supposed to get more snow soon…
