No, there is too much. Let me sum up.
Nice lazy Saturday, went for a walk and brunch, took a few pics around the neighborhood, bought some flowers for the apartment and cleaned up the place a bit. Took a really nice nap in the afternoon and got a little gaming in.
Got in touch with Jhim throughout the day to plan a bar night out in his neck of the woods. I metro’d out to Greenbelt in the evening and we headed over to PW’s. A nice little place, definitely just a bar, not a club, not a lounge, a bar. Mikey joined us and it was good to have some drinks, shoot the breeze and people watch for the evening. We finished up at Silver Diner (that mini burger basket, mmmm!) and Jhim was kind enough to cart my ass all the way back into the city home. I got in around 3am or so and eventually passed out.
This morning I got up well before the healthy 8-hour limit, but wasn’t feeling any ill effects so it’s all good. I had a bit of a chat with Everett via IM, played some CoH and rapidly realized that I was running out of time to get out for my tea (not coffee) date with mister metro not-so-missed connection. I threw on some clothes, dashed downstairs to wait for the bus and I waited.. had a brief chat with my next door neighbor at the bus stop, my spanish is horrible, her english is limited but we make do. After about 10 mins, I’m thinking the bus is really late or isn’t coming at all and I’m nearing the “running late” zone, so I run over to 16th and hail a cab to get over to Dupont, managing to make it with a minute to spare.
We had a nice chat over tea and light foodstuffs, then we took to the streets and walked and talked. All in all we walked from Dupont Circle to The Mall and popped into the NMAI as he hadn’t seen it yet and we walked up to Chinatown and stopped for a more substantial meal and after that we hit the metro home. It was a good day, he’s really nice (and cute) and I think there will be at least a second date.
In other news, I can’t decide what to buy myself for my birthday. I feel like I should treat myself to something nice, I just haven’t any ideas… any suggestions?
A ticket to the England…
Oh Danno, you always know just what I want.
I love the photos. I sometimes miss living in Mt. Pleasant – it has such a good vibe.
Kyle: have you see The Mount Pleasant Project? Some great photos from the area.
