blog: still here!

So yeah, it’s been a long time, huh? Shaking out the cobwebs, trying some new digs, and mostly trying to convince myself that people are still visiting this blog for posts other than the SNL Justin Timberlake and Beyonce sketch.

8613440448_e8e34e113b_n I’m not 100% sold on the new template, but I was getting sick of the content slider. I know they’re super popular lately, but in a lot of ways, I feel like they distract from your content rather than featuring it. Still, it would have been a lot easier if I could have just done the Wonder Woman spin and had my blog reappear in a flash of light with a perfectly coordinated look and feel, ready for action. Admittedly, WordPress kinda does make it that easy, but at the same time none of the template options looks that amazing when you keep browsing through them over and over.  And it seems that more people are using WordPress as a CMS for non-blog sites, so more of the templates are being aimed at redoing business or ecommerce.  I guess I gotta keep up, or ain’t nobody coming by to check out my ramblings!

So hopefully, we’re seeing Spring after what seems like the longest Fall/Winter ever, mostly because there weren’t really any notable weather extremes, so it was like one long stretch of grey skies with the occasional “super nice day” thrown in here and there. I’m betting even people without SAD were a bit hard pressed to stay upbeat and active. Even yesterday it was noted that Washington DC and Moscow were sharing temps.

So yeah, ready for Spring to hit us up any day now, but mostly I felt like I needed to get back to writing, even if it ain’t saying much–like this post–but you never know, I might come out with some real poignant stuff and then won’t you be sorry you missed it?! In any case, consider this, and likely the next few posts the warm up stretches to get back into a habit that I’ve neglected for far too long.

Happy Hump Day y’all and stay warm, wherever you are!
