DMV Winter Restaurant Week, January 25-31, 2016

Restaurant Week already? Yep! While you’re enjoying traveling or staying home for Christmas and/or New Year’s, think about making those plans around the end of January.

Metropolitan Washington Restaurant Week 2016 Kick 2016 off at your favorite restaurants this January 25-31, 2016 when Metropolitan Washington Restaurant Week returns with three-course fixed price lunch ($22) and/or dinner ($35) menus at 250 of the Washington DC area’s favorite dining establishments. Diners who book reservations through RWDMV.com, and opt-in to receive emails on exclusive deals on meals and other food related events, are automatically entered to win prizes including:

  • A local weekend getaway at a top hotel that includes a dining package
  • Tickets to the 2016 RAMMY Awards
  • Valentine’s Day package and gift certificates to local restaurants

I’ve taken advantage of Restaurant Week many times in the past, but this is the first time I knew about the contest/giveaways when reserving through their website. I’ll definitely go that route this year, however if you’re an OpenTable devotee, they do have a special Restaurant Week page set up to make reservations with about 80% of the participating restaurants.

Do yourself a favor, stake out a place you haven’t yet visited but that’s been on your to-go list and make those reservations early. Restaurants often get overrun1 with eager diners, and tables can fill up fast at the more popular and well-known venues. And be sure to check those menus ahead of time as there may not always be an option for substitutions.

Restaurant Week is a fun time to flex those foodie–and stomach–muscles! Maybe round up your office mates for an easily-priced lunch or just treat yourself to a wonderful meal out at a great price.

1 If you are a “regular” at a particular spot, Restaurant Week is probably the best time to try out someplace different. Depending on the venue, the fixed menus may not offer the entirety of their usual fare.
