Cool… Not Cool.
Anyone reading yesterday’s entry can probably guess at my mood yesterday, which carried through to this morning… until I read World War Hulk #1. If there’s a dermal patch for mood elevation that doesn’t actually need to be stuck on the skin and can be flipped through at one’s leisure, then sign me up. Oh yeah, comic books already exist! I gave up comics cold turkey ages ago and now only pick up hardbound or paperback collections of good story arcs, but I’ve been looking forward to this limited run coming out for a while now.
For those of you that don’t know about the upcoming story, wikipedia editors are here to help you: World War Hulk. For those of you that do and haven’t had a chance to read it yet, there be spoilers ahead in the form of clickable thumbnails, but I just have to share this scene from the issue.
I used to hate John Romita Jr’s art, but it so perfectly fits the style of this book. The sharp defined strokes accentuate the strong emotions in the story. And it’s made me realize what a big Hulk fan I am, I mean he got hosed by people who were, at times, his friends. Actually, hosed is an understatement, but suffice to say he’s back, he’s mad, and “the madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets” only this time he’s got the genius mind working for him too. I can’t wait for the next issue!
Yes, I’m a total geek. What of it?

Whoa.
