news: Singer wins ‘American Idol’
I neither subscribe to Yahoo! updates nor do I follow American Idol, so I was a little dubious when I saw this tweet and others:
Yahoo! says “Singer wins American Idol” …….I don’t watch, but aren’t they usually singers?

But there it is on Yahoo!’s homepage, which I suppose is an effort to post the news without immediately spoiling it, but I have to admit that it is more than a little redundant.
An example of the 24/7 news cycle trying to beat social media to the punch, but I suppose it’s better than putting “Spoiler Alert!” in the headline. That might appear… unprofessional.
