yet another phrase

… yet another phrase …

“I missed seeing you” or “It’s good to see you again”

This tends to piss me off when it comes from people/friends that, quite frankly are the ones that dropped off the face of the earth. Not me. Sure that sounds selfish, but rarely do I just vanish from friendships without serious cause.

So the pride festival was today and I ended up seeing a lot of people that I know (knew?), and I heard that phrase a lot. Along with “what’s going on with you?” as if I’m going to really be able to tell them in the 15 seconds they’re willing to stop on their way to the next booth. So mainly I just said “you have my e-mail address” to a lot of people that I know I’ll never hear from again. It was kinda nice though, I was wearing soem newly dyed bright red carpenter shorts and a black tank top and nearly every ex that I saw was all “you look good!” As well I should be after shedding over 30 pounds…

I also saw the men that currently revolve around my single status. Mike, Gerald.. and even Jake… who hasn’t gotten back to me about going to Six Flags tomorrow.. matter of fact, he hasn’t gotten back to me about anything. The phrase “I’ll call you back” I have chosen to supercede with “I’ll talk to you later.” It makes more sense in the long run, I suppose.
