Far From Heaven
I watched “Far From Heaven” yesterday after getting in from work. Since joining Netflix, I want to make the most of it. It was… interesting, to say the least. Really heavy at some points, the wife character was just too Stepford at times. I can imagine it raised more than a few eyebrows in the theaters if people were going into it not knowing what to expect.
It was like Audrey’s dream in “Little Shop of Horrors” brought to life, in vibrant Technicolor. I really enjoyed the movie, though I found I couldn’t sit still for it, movies at home have done that to me lately, I can watch them, I just like frequent pauses for me to do my own thing, be that laundry, dishes, cd burning, whatever. I guess I need a Tivo for real life to approximate watching DVDs at home. “Can we just pause this meeting? I really need to get a few errands done.”
