paint it gold

I was in Barnes and Noble last night and saw this book on the seasonal cheap reads table, The Official Guide to Christmas in the South: Or, If You Can’t Fry It, Spraypaint It Gold. For a moment I was like “How DARE they?” having suffered through the existence of other such books like How to Speak Southern and so on.

However what bits I flipped through were pretty funny, and then while trying a google search for the book to tell the title to a friend, lemme tell ya “christmas gold spray paint southern” brings up more than 6oo,ooo results, many of them actual home decorating advice (A Better Homes and Gardens article from 1996 used it in every home xmas craft suggestion).

Now I’m fighting the urge to head home and deep-fry something. 🙂
