i am a consumer whore

I got weak.. they dangled a “deal” in front of my face and I went for it. I just bought a Motorola RAZR from Verizon Wireless with my service plan renewal. So I got it for teh cheap, but still, I really didn’t need to spend the money. Though I did get paid and took care of my bills first and transferred the money back to the emergency savings that I took out to be able to eat and such. So at least I’m a responsible consumer whore! And I still need a bike trainer, though I’m realizing my apartment is just too small for some things, I need a better way to store my bike. (I also need to throw a lot of stuff away… maybe get good friends to lock me in my room while they sort and toss out my belongings)

I’ve been toying with the idea of a new layout on the site, and I’m loving the plugins I’ve found. I need to upgrade my version of WordPress to 2.0 so I can start using them. There’s one for Netflix queue and I already use the one that works with Audioscrobbler to pick up my recently played tracks. There’s also stuff for weather, etc. I just worry about too many plugins and not enough content. Fredo recently did a bottom heavy (no pun intended) layout that I like and I should remove the categories from the side of the page too, if there’s a search, there’s really no need to have both. And while I think the layout is calm and gentle, some of the design elements feel a little too limiting and a little too space-hungry.

Ah well, I’ll figure it out. 🙂
