How can you die a million times and still be ok?
Good question, Homer! I died (sorry, I mean was defeated) about 4 or 5 times during a Task Force in City of Heroes today, but it was nice to get back into Paragon and do a little super-heroing.
Last night was a great time at a Soup and Bad Movies party. Honestly, I am not a fan of the house party. There are often a lot of people there I don’t know and unfortunately have to get a little tipsy to be comfortable around strangers. House parties are often like… weddings. You travel some distance to hang out around a lot of people you don’t know and you rarely get to spend much time with the host, the person that you came to see, because they’re either busy trying to make sure everyone’s having a good time or that it’s an event focused on them so you know you won’t be able to hang out with them. It’s not that I don’t want to see these people, but when something feels like entering the lion’s den unless you’re a little tipsy, sometimes you have to take a pass and hope that they’ll come to the events you suggest that are more casual.
Last night was a lot of fun however, we got through some seriously bad films, enjoyed some great food (much of it vegan) and good wine. We made it through about 4 or 5 films, trying to end the evening around “Girls Will Be Girls” and “Josie and the Pussycats” but I couldn’t hang through the last film and it seemed like others were ready to head home around then too. It was good to hang out and see Moose and Brent, who I don’t get to see all that often. And around the end of the evening, I gave a really nice guy my number. 🙂
We have off tomorrow. I have no idea what I’m going to do for most of the day, but there’s a get together in my ‘hood tomorrow evening for dinner so that should be fun. Maybe I should head out and do a little shopping, but retail therapy really hasn’t been a necessity lately even though there are some things I need, just not that badly.
And the triple-play of The Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad tonight, really nailed it.
