The Creep that Extended Christmas
I have seen much about this out there, but a user submitted a photo to The Consumerist of Nordstrom’s opposition to Christmas Creep (wiki definition).
At Nordstrom, we won’t be decking our halls until Friday, November 23rd. Why? Well, we just like the idea of celebrating one holiday at a time.
From our family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving
I have absolutely no problem with those people that are always thinking ahead and organized enough to buy X-Mas presents in July or October, but there is rarely any difference between taking advantage of a sale then or in November (except that holiday season sales are often just trying to get rid of crap they don’t want, and you probably didn’t want until they offered it up either) and there’s certainly no sense for stores to decorate for X-Mas earlier and earlier. I think the past couple of years, you could see the X-Mas section of decorations slowly advancing on the Halloween section giving it all a good Nightmare Before Christmas kinda vibe.
