More TTRPG events with Me? Inquire Within!
This post is about a new page on my site. That page came from me having a mental checklist about TTRPG details. Then the mental checklist kept vanishing and turned into an always-open checklist text file on my desktop. So I decided to flesh it all out. The to-do list became an outline, which then turned into a 3,000 word (give or take) document, and… here we are!
Cheesy video aside, it was fun to sit down and write it all out. Also, a huge thank you to Val aka spacevalkyries for proofreading the whole thing!
I’ve had mostly good experiences working with people on TTRPG one-shots, panels, events, podcasts, etc. but every now and again, the details just weren’t detailing, and I had to take some deep breaths and be patient. At the end of the day, the show will go on (unless its canceled), and as a professional, I show up and do my best regardless.
That doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement, and while I very much made this page for myself, if others find it useful in any way, that’s great. I also know that I didn’t cover everything that other people might think of, and I’m open to comments and feedback if there are any glaring omissions. Just be nice about it, please!
It’s not just for TTRPG events, it also applies to panels, podcasts, co-streams, special events. I mostly touch on TTRPG one-shots, but have a little bit about potential paid opportunities in there. Overall, it’s stuff that feels like it should be common sense, but I’ve found lacking more often than not. The details, I mean, not the common sense. But sometimes also that.
Anyway, wanting to start off the year on a positive and constructive note, leaving myself a permanent webpage reminder on what I need to know to feel informed and comfortable is pretty good for January. Next up, maybe I’ll make an email template that also covers these points, but I don’t know if that would seem overwhelming or not. I don’t want to seem intimidating.
