I’m sorry that you were in that horrible accident that broke both your hands and rendered you mute and in traction, I wish I’d heard about it or I would have sent flowers or a card, or I’d have at least called you in the hospital.

But since I didn’t know and you obviously were in no position to contact me, I hope there are no hard feelings. As soon as the casts come off and your physical therapy is done, maybe we can go get a latte somewhere.

I like it aside from the open-endedness of the latte offer. 😉
