yay, another extension…

House Extends Highway Legislation Again

A two-year struggle to come up with a new federal highway spending bill was extended for two days Tuesday as an agreement continued to elude House and Senate negotiators.

Hurrah, really. I certainly wouldn’t want to shut things down here and go home for a day or two while the big boys squabble over dollars and cents. Previous extensions have been for 3-6 months, but the prior one was for 19 days, and now 2 days… *ugh*

Actually since I work on the the fois Reauthorization site, a legacy passed on by a former employee (‘sup J?), every time we near the expiration date on the extension I have to prep myself to either add a TON of information… or stop work altogether, grab my bag and head for the metro like playing hookey during a fire drill.

But I suppose I need something a little more immediate to concern myself with to not linger over Roberts’ nomination…
