We’ll never find another voice like yours
Grammy-Winning Singer Lou Rawls Dies | washingtonpost.com
His R&B, jazz and gospel music was one of the voices I grew up with, my parents loving it. I’d always flip past his telethons unless he was on talking or singing, heck I even smiled when the Simpsons spoofed him as a spy in an internet comic.
It makes me wonder, with the way culture trends are rising and falling so fast, who out of today’s singers will be anything more than a footnote when they pass on in their 60s-80s (assuming they live that long)? Who’ll be remembered as “great”?
