2015 Fall TV Flowchart

If you’re anything like me, you don’t have time–or at least tell yourself you don’t–to catch all the new broadcast, cable and streaming TV shows this upcoming Fall season. Well don’t worry, Washington Post’s Express has you covered with a handy flowchart depending on whether you’re into comedy or drama.1

For comedy, the nostalgia path might take you to shows starring heartthrobs from the 80s and 90s or to revivals of kids’ shows. It also breaks down into whether you want to watch live, or binge watch and then takes an odd Glee star or musical-based turn.

The drama side seems a little more varied with period pieces–starring mostly Brits, I’m betting–and superhero shows, but of course you have a choice of medical dramas and oddly two movie adaptations.

I’m pretty sure I already know which shows I’m going to keep an eye on, but this flowchart is a much more fun way to learn about them2 than the usual bulleted list or 15 page slideshow most sites opt for. I would love to see this evolve into a single-use “What Do I Want To Watch?” website aimed more at TV than just movies, where you enter in a show you like and get a few options for your DVR.

So get your PSLs and your Snuggies ready… it’s time for Fall TV!

1 And no other genres are considered major ones, so tough cookies and hard cheese.

2 Also a reminder that the name “Dick Wolf” still makes me laugh.

Thank you for this. Unfortuantely it just gave me overwhelming sadness, b/c the art/direction reminded me of Spy Magazine. (*le sigh*)
