On my walks around the neighborhood and DC, I see a lot of flyers and felt like they deserved to be shared beyond my few blocks.

A lot of these flyers will get torn down or spray painted over. There were some in front of a church and daycare where it seemed like a constant war between those posting and those trying to cover them up.

I saw a post on Bluesky, “I am also begging you to remember that not all forms of resistance are or should be visible.” And seeing these flyers as a constant refrain around where I live does encourage me to take action in any way I can, even if I’m not loud about it.

These are not the interesting or unprecedented times any of us wanted to live in–even those who think that they did. All I can do is wish everyone out there safety, survival, community, and well-being. Do what you can for others, but as flight attendants remind us, “Put your own mask on first before helping others.” Because this is a marathon when we wish it could be a sprint. 💖
