Jazz in the Garden ’06
I think I mentioned this last year, and it’s a fun way to spend a few hours after work on Friday before going someplace for dinner and/or drinks. National Gallery of Art: Jazz in the Garden. Every Friday from 5-8:30pm, through Sept. 15, 2006
From my past visits, it’ll be pretty damn hot outside, but there are shaded areas and you can always dip your feet in the fountain. They also serve food and sodas and wine, but I’m not breaking the bank on a mediocre red or white, still the few times I went last year I had a great time and tomorrow’s band is “Cubano Groove” which just sounds interesting to me.
I’m sure I’ll be there more than a few times this year as I missed a lot of them last year
Also, from the recent National Geographic Traveler magazine comes an article of Free Things to Do in Washington, D.C. – though most of us already know about a lot of the free stuff to do in the area, you never know, might see something new. I’m especially interested in the music and theater offerings.
