Two dollars! Two dollars!
I’m a little impressed. Generally whenever Starbucks has a promotion, the stores nearest me seem to have never heard of it, have completely wrong information, or pull the “participating locations” crap.
Looking to bring more value-seeking consumers through its doors for a late afternoon caffeine fix, Starbucks Corp. said it will now offer its morning customers any iced grande beverage for $2 after 2 p.m.
The price is a big cut from the normal price of most grande-sized iced drinks. A grande iced latte, for example, costs about $4. To get the discount, customers must present a receipt from their morning Starbucks visit.
I’m not normally inclined to hit Starbucks in the afternoon since I don’t do coffee breaks beyond my morning stop on the way into the office, but with this I might pick up a cheap iced drink on the way home or after my commute in Columbia Heights, assuming you can use it at a different store. Kudos to them for a promotion that’s easy to understand and easy to redeem.
Just keep in mind that if you don’t purchase it, the kid on the bike chases you around town.
Yesterday, I went into a Starbucks a little after 1pm and got a Vivanno (Yes, I got hooked on them). After 2pm, I used the coupon to get another one. Ain’t life grand?
@William Mize: I’d prefer that to Ricky putting his testicles all over me.
@shindo: That is smart shopping, well done!
Of course it blows my mind that the actor who played Ricky is now one of Nickelodeon’s best known show creators and producers. Crazy.
I think that Savage Steve Holland and John Cusack should get together for one more movie.
Hasn’t anyone heard about the free coffees you get when you purchase coffee with a Starbucks card? I used to drink two or three a day for the price of one.
@mike: I have heard of it, but neither of my local Starbucks were aware of the promotion or how to activate it, so I didn’t bother refilling my Starbucks card because it was an extra step. I don’t drink coffees, I prefer espresso drinks, but even so I am supposed to get my syrups for free. They didn’t know how to activate the discount and one manager even assured me that the discount was automatically applied online (it’s not). So I’m glad that this promotion is so easy for them to figure out and honor.
