Don't waste time on what might have been

It is really not easy to get a good picture of a fortune cookie fortune! But it came at a very appropriate time as I was dwelling a bit too much on the past, recent and farther back. Maybe that’s a natural by-product of aging, everything holds memories, stuff in my apartment, places around DC — I have been here for 10 years tho, so it’s not entirely unexpected. The one constant theme is that I rarely run into the people in my past, former friends, ex-boyfriends, co-workers, etc. DC isn’t that large a place but it’s still pretty rare that our paths cross.

I headed out to diner dinner at Plato’s last night with Gregory. I’m pretty sure I’ve been there with Mike and Mikey before and I know I’d been there the morning after a fairly bad date/trick/whatever quite some time ago. I wasn’t in the mood to cook or order out and breakfast for dinner sounded yummy. It was good fare but the usual for a diner, the bacon great, homefries great, eggs kinda adequate and pancakes great. I can never finish a “Full American Breakfast” anyway so I try to leave the pancakes for last as a sort of dessert. After dinner he was nice enough to drive me back into town since I don’t mind taking Metro home but the winds last night were insane and it was COLD. I mean I know that the weather is the default conversation topic when you can’t think of anything else to talk about, but this stuff lately definitely merits talking about.

Gotta dance!I love cheapies and freebies. Kraft put an Active Gaming section on their website, I suppose in an effort to counteract all those pudgy kids that can’t stop eating their Mac & Cheese and they were giving away (after shipping) a USB dance/game pad. I have constantly mentioned that I always want to play DDR when I see a machine out but that no one will do it with me, so now I can play (embarrass myself) in the privacy of my own home. I’ll call it aerobics, it’ll help justify my case for getting a Wii, whenever I can actually FIND one.

Today’s YouTube insanity comes from Shinichi at shindotv: Tyra Banks Goes Insane. I don’t watch Tyra but the clips I see on YouTube are usually pretty hilarious. She goes after Oprah in this one and it’s pretty good but you know Tyra’s got to take it to the extreme.

Still, I think I might have to hit the CVS today after work…

This video has me rolling on the floor! I want to do the Oprah scream kicking my feet up from the floor like Tyra! I’ve seen it a few times already and I still can’t stop laughing. Tyra is a big ham, and I love her for it.

Thanks for plugging the broadcast on ShindoTV! 🙂

Can you imagine if you treated your regular workday like that?

“Ok everyone on the count of three, check your e-mails. 1.. 2.. 3.. You’ve got a MEMO!!!!! That’s right, a memo, all for you! *scream!*”

That sounds like a workplace training video. Oprah-fy the speaker (or get someone wackier, such as Susan Powter. Remember her?). Then make everyone in the video get riled and excited over getting memos, plugging numbers into spreadsheets, or doing a mail merge. YOU GOT A MAIL MERGE. YOU GOT A MAIL MERGE! That’s right, print those labels! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!

Took me ages to find my Wii too! Eventually I did one of those auto stock check email things – it told me Amazon had 10 I grabbed one!:)
